ALA releases Library PR Handbook

CHICAGO – ALA Editions, the publishing imprint of the American Library Association, just released “The Library PR Handbook” edited by Mark Gould, director of the ALA’s Public Information Office. Written by high-profile experts in the PR field, this new handbook aims to keep library personnel on top of this fast-paced, complex role with:

  • Ideas to harness a celebrity brand and create effective public service announcements.
  • The how-tos of amplifying your message through partnerships.
  • The means to develop affordable podcasts, savvy outreach programs and special events.

Gould is a veteran of 25 years in the communication field and has been the director of the American Library Association’s Public Information Office since 2000.
